The Protection of Our Lady of Emmitsburg
Friday December 21, 2007
I could not even begin to say how many times Our Lady of Emmitsburg
has said in Her messages to Gianna that She provides protection to us. I also
could not begin to describe the many times I have felt this protection. When it
happens it is impossible not to recognize the heavenly intervention that
provides this protection. If it were not for this protection my life here in
Emmitsburg for the reasons I moved up here would have crumbled long ago.
This paper will sound like so many of the others but the reason I have
decided to write it is because it is a good example of Our Lady’s intervention
stepping in at just the nick of time to prevent a problem that could have caused
me problems at work.
I woke up this morning very suddenly with the urge to pray. I knew
what the clock was going to say even before I looked over at it. I looked over
at it and the time was 4:33.
I said a few prayers and it was time to get up anyway because I had my
5 AM Friday adoration. I got ready to go to adoration and when I arrived just as
I shut the car off I noticed the CD flash 33. I went in the chapel and glanced
at my watch as I knelt before the Blessed Sacrament and it said XX:XX:33.
Fr. Robert Malagesi was the only other person there. I prayed for a
little while before I started praying the rosary. I prayed the Sorrowful
mysteries and when I finished I noticed the clock sitting on the organ next to
me said 5:33.
After completing the rosary I prayed my Liturgy of The Hours prayers.
When the hour was up Fr. Robert reposed the Blessed Sacrament and I glanced at
my watch as I walked out of the door and it said XX:XX:33. I drove home and when
I arrived the time on the dash was 6:13 and the odometer was 33.
S.C.C. was getting C.R.C. off to school. Shortly later I left to
attend the 7 AM mass at the basilica. When I arrived and just as the car came to
a complete stop the CD flashed 33. Fr. Steve was the priest and when mass ended
I glanced at my watch as I walked out of the door and the time was 7:33.
I drove to work in Manassas and when I arrived I discovered that two of my
co-workers were off for the entire day. This left just me and one other person,
Bill H. It was a very busy morning for me. Everything slowed down later in
the afternoon because people were eager to leave a little early being so close
to Christmas. Bill left and that just left me.
After about an hour or so of absolutely nothing to do I decided that I might
as well leave too because nothing was happening. I looked at my watch as I
walked out the door and the time was 4:20. I got all the way to my car and was
ready to leave when SUDDENLY I felt like I should not leave yet because I was
the only person there and coverage is at least until 5 pm. This caused me to
glance at my watch because it was so clear and strong. It said XX:XX:33.
I went back to my desk and sure enough a software build had come in which I
was expected to do. If I had not been there to do it there could have been
trouble for our department and even more trouble for me.
When I finished the build I did leave for the day and I stopped at All
Saint’s to pray the rosary because I had not been earlier in the day. I glanced
at my watch as I walked in the chapel door and the time was 5:13. I prayed the
Sorrowful mysteries of the rosary and glanced at my watch as I finished and
walked out the door and the time was 5:33 and there was a van parked at the door
with it’s motor running with the license plate of 13.
I drove back to Emmitsburg and because of going back in and completing that
software build at work I arrived at St. Joseph’s at 7:33. I thanked Our Lady for
sparing me the problems at work had I not been there to complete the software
build. As I left the CD flashed 13.
