4th Trip to Medjugorje and The Deaths of Terri Schiavo and The Pope

March 28 - April 7, 2005

This trip to Medjugorje originated this past October 30th while having dinner with Brian F and Sharon L. During dinner Brian casually mentioned to S.C.C. and I that he would like to go back to Medjugorje. Several days later I checked Lynn Hoffman’s Medjugorje schedule with Fiat Voluntas Tua in California and realized that the March 28th through April 7th trip would suite us best because it would give us nearly 6 months to prepare and C.R.C. would be out of school for part of that time. We decided on that date and put it in the hands of Our Lady.

After that I could sit here and write several pages describing how this trip came together and nearly collapsed several times. There were many obstacles hurled at just about everybody who decided to go. There were also many blessings and graces that gave everybody the ability to overcome the obstacles and make this a wonderful trip to Medjugorje. There were 36 people on this trip and 19 of us were from Emmitsburg.

Our first trip to Medjugorje originated in St. Joseph’s parish hall in Emmitsburg back in 2001. Every trip we have ever made to Medjugorje has ended up being perfectly timed with another event that has had a significant impact on us.

On our first trip in August 2001 our trip was perfectly timed with the death of S.C.C.’s father. My 2nd trip (S.C.C. and C.R.C. did not go on this trip) was in perfect sync with the incorrect negative ruling on the apparitions of Our Lady in Emmitsburg. Our 3rd trip was in perfect sync with the death of my uncle Frank Shaw and now the 4th trip with the death of Pope John Paul II and Terri Schiavo.

Every one of these trips has been perfectly timed beyond any human control whatsoever by the 13 and 33 sequence that began to happen to me at St. Joseph’s in Emmitsburg in the earliest days of my presence there. I will now describe our most recent trip to Medjugorje starting the day before our departure with Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunday March 27, 2005

I have felt certain that there would be a message from Our Lady of Emmitsburg on Easter Sunday. I also knew for certain that there would be a message because I had been told one was coming out that day by several people around here that already knew.

I did not take the Ash Wednesday message and papers to Fr. ___ because of the short time since I had dropped off the last envelope. I wanted to take the Easter Sunday Mar 27 message and papers before going to Medjugorje so I waited for it to arrive.

The message arrived and I got in my car to take it. When I started the car the time on the dash was 3:33. I drove straight to "hometown" and was delayed because of heavy Easter Weekend traffic. I arrived at "Parish Church" at 6:13. I dropped the packet of papers off on the table and left. The time was still 6:13. I drove straight home and when I pulled in my driveway the odometer was 3.3.

Monday March 28

Like I said earlier this trip has been planned for almost the past 6 months. It always seems like there is something that will try to destroy the trip right up until the moment of departure. Today was no exception. When C.R.C. got up this morning he was very sick with a fever and sore throat. S.C.C. and I told him to remain in bed while we went to mass at St. Mary’s. S.C.C. and I drove to St. Mary’s for mass. When the mass was over we left and when I started the car the time on the dash was 8:33.

We drove home and C.R.C. was still feeling very bad. We finished the last of our packing for the trip and took a house key to Dorothy B. Dorothy is a member of the Thursday Night Prayer group and just lives down the street. She was going to bring in our mail and watch the house while we were gone. I then needed to go to town and get a little extra cash for the trip from the ATM machine. On my way I stopped at St. Joseph’s to say a prayer for C.R.C. and our trip. I arrived and the time was 9:33.

When I finished my prayers I stopped by the ATM machine and got a little extra money for the trip. I also stopped at the Copy Center and had copies made of the latest pack of my papers for Fr. M___ . I then drove home and put them in an envelope. I then left to take them to St. Mary’s and when I started the car to leave the time on the dash was 10:33. I dropped them off and when I returned home the odometer was 331.3.

C.R.C. was still sick but said he would be ok. We had just finished the last things we needed to do for this trip when the phone rang and it was Peter Kahne. Peter is a friend who owns a transport service. We hired him to take us to and from the airport. Peter said he was running about 20 minutes or so late and would get here to pick us up as soon as possible. When Peter arrived the time was 12:33.

We loaded our luggage and then went to pick up Bob Ferguson who lives nearby. We then drove into Emmitsburg and picked up Jim O’Brien. After Jim was in the van we left to go pick up Becky Brown who lives near the Grotto of Lourdes. We loaded her luggage in the van and pulled out of her driveway just as the feeling of peace hit me very hard. I glanced at my watch and the time was now 1:13. Peter drove us to Dulles Airport and we arrived there at 2:33.

Once we arrived at Dulles we met up with Dr. Joe F and his entire family. Will L and members of his family along with Brian F and Sharon L. Our flight was delayed because of thunder storms. They finally announced that we could board the plane. As we were boarding the plane I was again struck with the feeling of peace that I instantly recognize. I glanced down at my watch and the time was 4:13. I took my seat on the plane which was seat 33.

After we boarded the plane it was announced that our departure would be delayed again because of more storms in the area. While we were waiting I was suddenly struck with a sudden, out of nowhere thought of how Emmitsburg and Medjugorje are so closely related. I thought about the next public apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg being on Divine Mercy Sunday and 19 of us from Emmitsburg would be in Medjugorje. It was so very strong and clear I knew to look at my watch and the time was 5:33:13.

Our plane took off a few minutes later and we flew straight to Vienna, Austria. C.R.C. was still sick during the flight and was vomiting. During the flight I set my watch to Medjugorje time.

Tuesday March 29

Once we landed in Vienna we had a scheduled 5 hour layover before our connecting flight to Sarajevo took off. Again we were delayed on that flight by about an hour and a half. We finally took off and made the 1 ½ hour flight to Sarajevo. From Sarajevo we took a bus that was there waiting for us for a 3 ½ hour ride to Medjugorje.

We arrived in Medjugorje and the bus took us to the Pansion ANA ( Hotel ANA) for our first 2 nights before transferring to Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo’s house who is one of the 6 visionaries in Medjugorje. The bus arrived and at the very instant I got off the bus and my foot landed on Medjugorje soil I felt the peace. I looked at my watch and the time was 7:13.

Dinner was ready for us when we arrived and it was very good. By the time we arrived in Medjugorje C.R.C. was feeling fine. After dinner I asked a few people if they would like to climb Apparition Hill with me. It was dark and people were tired so the only people who went was myself, C.R.C. and Joe and Jan F. We climbed Apparition Hill and afterwards C.R.C. said he would like to get a coke at the Titanic Resturant. We got the coke and walked back to the hotel and arrived at 11:33.

Wednesday March 30

Breakfast was served at 8 AM. We then all walked to St. James for the 10 AM English speaking mass. After the mass Miki Musa who was our guide from Medjugorje gave a introduction to Medjugorje at St. James. It was very good because for 13 of the 19 people in our group from Emmitsburg it was there first time in Medjugorje. We took a break and several of us walked over to the Titanic for a Coke before returning to St. James for the second part of the introduction.

When Miki finished the introduction we walked behind St. James to the large bronze statue of The Risen Christ. This statue has become famous because from time to time it weeps an oily water from the knee. It was weeping when we arrived and as I watched the liquid form in front of my eyes and run down I felt a very strong feeling of peace. This happened several times and each time I glanced at my watch and it would say either XX:XX:13 or 33.

Our group then dispersed and was supposed to meet back at the hotel for lunch at 1 PM. We had a little extra time so I stopped at St. James and prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary. I then walked back to the hotel. I was the last to arrive for lunch. When lunch was over we left to go to hear Fr. Svete give a talk that was scheduled for 2 PM in the Yellow Building (parish hall) as we left I glanced at my watch and the time was 1:33:33.

Fr. Svete gave a very good talk about returning to Jesus and allowing Our Lady to help show us the way. When the talk was over we had some free time so we just walked around Medjugorje for a while before returning to St. James for the daily 5 PM rosary and apparition of Our Lady of Medjugorje.

The church was packed jammed like always. We managed to get in but shortly after that there was not even standing room. The rosary began and at the instant the priest who was leading the rosary said “silence” because the apparition had begun I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. It lasted about 2 minutes. When it was over and the rosary resumed I again glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

I wish I knew how to put into words just how exactly the same it is when Our Lady of Medjugorje comes compared to when Our Lady of Emmitsburg comes. I think you could only recognize the sameness if you had been through what I have been through. Our Lady of Medjugorje and Our Lady of Emmitsburg are one and the same. I know this to be true.

After the daily rosary and apparition was over the 6 PM Pilgrim mass began. The Gospel is read in many languages and the mass is said in Croation. That was followed by the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary. We then went to eat dinner at the Titanic Resturant and then returned to St. James for an hour of Eucharistic Adoration that began at 9 PM and ended at 10 PM. It was so crowded we could not get back in the church. We did have a good view of the monstrance from just outside the front door. During adoration I was suddenly filled with peace that was so strong I knew to glance at my watch. It was 9:33. Adoration ended and we walked back to the hotel and arrived at 10:13.

After we arrived there were several people from our group who wanted to walk to Apparition Hill and climb. S.C.C. and C.R.C. wanted to go and so did Will and Joey L. We made the climb and when we reached the statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje we prayed the rosary. When we finished we started our climb down the hill. I glanced at my watch and the time was 11:33. When we arrived back at the hotel I sat down and caught up all of the notes from the trip in my hand written journal from the digital voice recorder I use. When I finished I looked at my watch and the time was 1:33:33.

Thursday March 31

This morning we got up to go to the 10 AM English mass at St. James. We had a little extra time so we walked through the streets of Medjugorje. I stopped and bought a coke and at the very instant I took the first sip I suddenly remembered the 1 hour fast before mass. It was so strong I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. I threw the coke away.

We continued to look around until time for mass and then walked over to St. James. When the German speaking mass was over we went in the church. At the very instant mass began I again felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

During the mass the priest who was from Ireland told a story about a young boy and his father who were walking and came upon a black dog who represented evil and a white dog who represented goodness. The two dogs got in a fight and the man and boy walked away before the fight was over. The young boy asked his father which dog was going to win. The father replied “Which ever one you feed”. For whatever reason this triggered a very strong feeling of peace in me that was so strong I glanced at my watch and the time was 10:33.

Mass ended and S.C.C. said she would like to walk back to the statue of The Risen Christ. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. We arrived and the statue was weeping profusely. I decided that I would like to try to collect some of the liquid coming from the knee in a small bottle. At the instant this idea hit I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

I walked over to one of the religious shops to buy a small holy water bottle. When I got as far as St. James the peace hit again. I looked at my watch and the time was 11:33. I got a bottle and was able to collect a small amount of the liquid weeping from the knee.

We were scheduled to meet at the front of St. James at noon for a bus ride to Fr. Jozo’s parish about 20 miles away from Medjugorje for a talk he was going to give. We boarded the bus and a few minutes later Miki Musa led the Angelus We completed it just as the feeling of peace hit me. I looked at my watch and the time was 12:13.

During the bus ride Miki told the story of how Fr. Jozo did not believe in the apparitions of Our Lady at first and was determined to put an end to all of this nonsense. Then suddenly, during a rosary he saw with his very own eyes Our Lady at the instant She appeared to the 6 young visionaries. Ever since that evening in St. James Fr. Jozo has been a tower of support. Fr. Jozo is actually considered Medjugorje’s 7th visionary.

Fr. Jozo’s talk was very good and was translated into English by an American woman named Nancy. After Fr. Jozo completed his talk he gave everyone a blessing and the time was 2:33.

We toured the grounds and saw the cave where 30 Franciscans were burned to death by the Communist back in 1945. When everyone left the area of the cave I started to climb down the steps that go underground into the cave. It became pitch black and you could not even see your hand in front of your face. Water was dripping from the celing. I was about to turn around and go back up the steps when suddenly I knew I was being given the opportunity to continue. My watch has a lighted face and I pushed the button and it said XX:XX:33. I then continued feeling my way through the cave and suddenly I saw a dim light. It was the light from the other end of the cave. I made my way completely through and glanced at my watch as I walked out the other end. It said XX:XX:33.(3:00:33).

We boarded the bus and rode back to Medjugorje. When we arrived the bus took us to Mirjana’s house where we would be spending the rest of our visit. Dinner was ready when we arrived. After dinner S.C.C. and C.R.C. said they wanted to walk back to town. When they said this I glanced at my watch and the time was 5:33:33.

We walked to town and Fr. Sylvester who was a priest on our trip from California joined us. When we got back to St. James Fr. Sylvester went to hear confessions and S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself walked to the Titanic for a Coke. We then went back to the statue of the Risen Christ. I collected some more of the tears from the statue in my bottle and when I finished I looked at my watch and the time was now 6:33.

S.C.C. and C.R.C. went in St. James because adoration was now in progress. I did not go with them because Fr. Sylvester had asked me to meet him at the confessionals because he was not sure of his way around. While I was waiting for Fr. Sylvester I was struck with a very strong sense of peace caused by the huge numbers of people from all over the world going to confession in Medjugorje. The feeling of peace became even stronger when I looked up and saw Patrick F coming out of the confessional. The time was 7:33.

Fr. Sylvester came out of the English confessional after the last English speaking person was done. He and I then went to adoration and we ran into S.C.C. and C.R.C. just inside the church. We stayed for a while and then walked over the the Titanic for dinner. Very shortly after we arrived Joe F showed up and sat down at our table and told us that he just heard that Terri Schaivo had died. I felt a strong feeling of sadness that something like this could happen anywhere in the world much less the United States. I glanced at my watch and the time was 8:13.

I have mentioned in several past papers a few of the many times that I was suddenly struck with a sudden out of nowhere desire to pray for Terri Schaivo only to be struck with a sudden out of nowhere 13 or 33. I had highly suspected that Terri would die while we were on this trip and I also highly suspected that when I first heard about her death that the time would be 13 or 33 after the hour and like I said it was 8:13.

We finished dinner at the Titanic and took a taxi back to the house so Fr. Sysvester would not have to walk. When we returned to the house several people wanted to climb Apparition Hill. When everybody who wanted to go was ready we left and walked to Apparition Hill. I felt the peace hit me as we arrived and I glanced at my watch. The time was 10:13. We got to the top and prayed for a while. Will L then asked if we could pray a rosary. We did and when we finished we climbed down the hill. I looked at my watch as I took the last step off Apparation Hill and the time was 11:33.

First Friday April 1

We got up this morning and walked to St. James for the 10 AM English mass. It was during this mass that it was announced that Pope John Paul II had suffered a heart attack and was in very serious condition. Upon this news there was a loud groan from the people in the church. My first reflex upon hearing this news was to pray. Simultaneously my second reflex was to glance at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

Throughout the mass and the rest of the day I continued to offer my prayers for the pope. After mass we were scheduled to go to the Ceneloco Community and hear a talk by a nun. We took cabs to the community. When we arrived the time on the dash of the taxi was 11:13.

The nun must have forgotten because she never showed up. There was adoration until 1 PM in the chapel. We sat in the chapel and prayed for the pope before the Blessed Sacrament. At one point I looked over and saw C.R.C. praying the rosary. It caused a feeling of peace in me. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. About a half hour later or so I again glanced over at C.R.C. and he was reading the back of a holy card. Again it caused a feeling of peace that caused me to want to suddenly pray the rosary. I glanced at my watch and the time was 12:13. I prayed the rosary for the pope and looked at my watch when I finished. The time was 12:33. We left when adoration was supposed to end at 1 o’clock and walked back to Mirjana’s house and arrived there at 1:13.

It was not long after we returned to the house and both S.C.C. and C.R.C. said they wanted to walk back into town. I did not really want to go yet but I got the strength I needed when I glanced at my watch and it said 1:33. We walked in town and S.C.C. and C.R.C. went shopping and I walked back to the statue of The Risen Christ and collected a few more drops of water from the knee in my bottle. A little later I ran into S.C.C. and C.R.C. and we walked back to the house and arrived at 3:33.

I was tired and I laid down on the bed and fell asleep for a while. When I woke up we took a cab back to town and attended the daily rosary and apparition in St. James. The Pilgrim mass began at 6 PM and at the instant the Gospel was read the peace hit me again. I looked at my watch and it was 6:13. We remained in the church after mass for a Holy Hour and when that was over we left. At the very instant we walked out of the church a car pulled up directly in front of us with the license plate of 333.

We walked back to the house and upon arrival we were told that Pope John Paul II had died. Upon hearing this news my first reaction was to glance at my watch and I was fully expecting to see a 13 or 33 but I did not. I was actually quite surprised that the news of the pope’s death was not in sync with what I experience.

Later in the evening Will L, Joey L and myself made our nightly climb up Apparition Hill. When we arrived at the statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje we prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary for the pope. When we finished the rosary I glanced at my watch and the time was 11:13. We then climbed down Apparition Hill and just as we took the last step off I felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was now 11:33.

First Saturday April 2

On the 2nd of each month Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo has a special apparition of The Blessed Virgin Mary at the Oaisis of Peace. Because we were staying at her house special seats were given to us for this occasion but we had to get there early to beat the thousands of people who show up each month for this event. We had breakfast and when we finished we boarded the vans that were already waiting for us. I glanced at my watch as I got on the van and the time was 6:13.

We arrived and a new building had been erected in place of the old tents for the monthly apparition. We were given seats up front near Mirjana. There was a group of sick and handicapped people who were carried in and seated next to Mirjana. The rosary was prayed continuously.

Mirjana arrived a few minutes before 9 AM. She like everyone else was still under the impression that the pope was dead. The rosary began and at 9:18 Our Lady came. I was able to see Mirjana’s eyes at the instant the apparition began. The peace was perfect just like in Emmitsburg when Our Lady appears to Gianna. The apparition lasted about 5 minutes and at the instant it was over I again felt a jolt of peace. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

There were a lot of priest in the upstairs section of the building from all around the world and one of them yelled down to Mirjana and asked if Our Lady said anything about the death of the pope. Mirjana said that the message from Our Lady was to “Renew the church and pray for unbelievers” She then said that Our Lady made no mention of the pope. We then left and because of the thousands of people getting a cab was impossible. We walked to St. James for the 10 AM mass and arrived at 10:13.

After mass we walked over to the Titanic and got a cup of coffee. After that we walked back over to the statue of The Risen Christ and I collected a few more tear drops in my bottle. We then walked back to St. James and arrived at 12:13.

S.C.C. wanted to look around in a few of the shops before we walked back to Mirjana’s house. We took the path that runs through the vineyards and when we arrived back at the house Brian F told us that the pope was not dead. He told us that the news media prematurely and inaccurately reported the pope’s death and that he was still alive! This caused an extremely strong feeling of peace and joy. My reaction was to say thank You and glance at my watch and this time it said XX:XX:13.

I was a little tired so I walked upstairs and took a nap for a few hours. When I woke up we walked back to St. James for the daily 5 PM rosary and apparition of Our Lady. When we arrived I glanced at my watch and the time was 5:13:33. The rosary was in progress and when the priest requested “silence” because Our Lady had arrived I felt the peace and glanced at my watch. It said XX:XX:13.

The Pilgrim Mass followed and when that was over we walked over to the Titanic and ate dinner with Becky Brown. After dinner Becky took a cab back to the house and we walked back to St. James for a Eucharistic Adoration prayer service for Pope John Paul II. We arrived back at St. James and the time was 9:33.

A few minutes after we arrived the church bells started to ring continuously for about 15 minutes that signaled to everyone in Medjugorje the death of the pope. The church bells could be heard for miles. The real news of the pope’s death produced a feeling of deep sadness that the earlier, false report of his death did not produce.

While kneeling before the Blessed Sacrament I started thinking about the many times over the past several months that I would suddenly feel the urge to pray for the pope from Emmitsburg and it would be 13 or 33 after the hour. It happened so often that I mentioned it several times in some fairly recent papers. As I was thinking about this I suddenly realized without a doubt in my mind that this trip to Medjugorje was timed around and focused on Pope John Paul’s death. As I realized this I started smelling roses. They were unmistakable like always. When the roses stopped I glanced down at my watch and the time was 10:13:00.

About 10 or 15 minutes later S.C.C. and C.R.C. said they were going to go back to the house. I wanted to stay until adoration and prayers were over at midnight. I felt I should stay and I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. When the prayers for the pope ended at midnight Jim O’Brien and I took a cab back to the house and arrived at 12:13. After talking with Jim for a little while I sat down and caught up my notes and at the very instant I finished writing I glanced at my watch and the time was 1:33:13.

Divine Mercy Sunday April 3

A public apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg is scheduled to take place today at Karen and Mick Major’s farm at 4 PM. I mentioned to a few people that I would like go go up Apparition Hill at 10 PM (6 hour time difference) and pray the rosary in union with them in Emmitsburg from Medjugorje.

We got up very early this morning to climb Mt. Krizivak (Cross Mountain) and cabs were waiting for us after breakfast to take us there. We got in the cabs to go and I looked at my watch and the time was 7:33.

Cross Mountain is about 5 or 6 times higher than Apparition Hill. Both climbs consist of stepping from one rock to the next. There is no level ground anywhere. It’s all rock. The cabs dropped us off at the foot of Cross Mountain. Our group made the climb stopping at each Station of The Cross on the way up. We arrived at the Cross at the top of the mountain and the time was 9:33. It was then I realized that because of the time difference in Emmitsburg it was 3:33.

We stayed at the top for a while and prayed. The view from the top of Cross Mountain is spectacular. You can see all of Medjugorje from up there. After a while we started the climb down. On the way I encountered a lady from Belgium named Mariette. She was having a horrible time trying to get down. I took her hand and helped her all the way to the bottom. During our climb down there were several times I suddenly felt the peace run through me and I knew it was because I was helping her down the hill. Each time it hit I glanced at my watch and each time it said XX:XX:13 or 33.

S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself then walked to St. James for the noon English speaking Sunday mass. We arrived and the Croatian mass was still in progress so we walked over to the Statue of the Risen Christ. I glanced at my watch as we arrived there and the time was 11:33:59.

We stayed there until time for mass and walked back to St. James and got our seats. The Croatian mass was late getting out so the English mass got a late start and did not begin until 12:13. A large picture of Pope John Paul II was now next to the altar. During the consecration I again felt the peace and glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33. After mass we walked back to Mirjana’s house and arrived at 1:33.

I was a little tired from so much walking today and I laid down to rest. Mirjana was scheduled to talk to our entire group and answer questions at 3 PM in the lower level of the house. S.C.C. woke me up to go to Mirjana’s talk and I glanced at my watch as I walked out the door. It said XX:XX:13.

During Mirjana’s talk someone asked her to describe what Our Lady looks like. Mirjana explained that it is very difficult to put such beauty to words. She also said that she has never seen a picture that even comes close to Her beauty. Mirjana then said something that stunned me. She described Our Lady’s beauty and Joy as radiating from the inside outwards. She described it in such a way that I knew exactly what she was talking about because her description matched exactly what I saw on December 8, 2004 when I saw Her. It was such a perfect description of the Joy that I knew to glance at my watch after she said it and the time was 3:13:59.

Mirjana’s talk lasted for about an hour and when it was over I walked back to St. James for the daily 5 PM rosary and apparition. I glanced at my watch as I walked in the door and it said XX:XX:13. I stayed until the end of the rosary but I did not stay for the Pilgrim Mass. I then walked back to the statue of the Risen Christ and then I walked through a few shops and picked up a few small gifts for some people. I then walked back to St. James for the evening prayers that started after the mass ended and arrived at 7:33.

When the prayer service was over I walked to the Titanic and got a sandwich. I then walked back to the house. A little later several of us left to climb Apparition Hill so we could pray the rosary at the same time the rosary in Emmitsburg was being prayed. S.C.C., C.R.C., Joe F, Will and Joey L and myself went. When we reached the statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje we talked for a few minutes. We then started the rosary and when we did I glanced at my watch and the time was 10:13 and we completed the rosary at 10:33. We then continued with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We then walked back to the house and arrived at 11:13.

Monday April 4

It felt good to sleep in for a while this morning. I was the last one to arrive downstairs for breakfast and when I realized I was the last one I glanced at my watch and the time was 9:13.

We then walked to St. James for mass. When we arrived I stopped to look at the picture of the pope next to the altar. For some reason it was at that time I again had a lot of sudden memories of praying for the pope over the past several months. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33. I again felt the peace as we walked out of the church and now it said XX:XX:13.

Later S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself walked around some of the shops to pick up a few more gifts for some people. We walked in this one store that had all kinds of mass accessories. I wanted to get something for Fr. ___ but I did not know what. When I decided what I was going to get him I placed it on the counter. It was at that instant the peace ran through me and caught me by complete surprise. I glanced at my watch and the time was 1:33:33.

We then took a cab back to the house and had lunch. After lunch we rested and then got up and went back to St. James for the 5 PM rosary and apparition of Our Lady. I glanced at my watch as we walked in St. James and it said XX:XX:13. We did not stay for the Pilgrim mass because we wanted to go back to the house and hear a talk by Fr. Sylvester about the family.

Fr. Sylvester gave a very good talk about modern family problems and solutions. After the talk a fairly large group of us went back to town and had dinner at the Titanic. Vlado who owns the restaurant then gave everybody free desert because we went there so often. The Titanic is the very best restaurant in all of Medjugorje. When we finished eating someone suggested that we walk back to the Statue of The Risen Christ. We did and when we arrived at St. James the time was 10:13.

We spent a little time at the statue and it was weeping. I collected a few more drops in my bottle. We then walked back to the house and I left to make my nightly climb up Apparition Hill. I looked for Will and Joey Lyons because they always want to go but I could not find them. Nobody else wanted to go so I went alone. I got to the base of the hill and started climbing. I had only taken a few steps onto the hill when suddenly I felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was 11:13.

I made the climb alone and never saw another person the entire time. When I arrived at the statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje I saw Will and Joey were already there. We prayed the rosary and when we finished I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. We walked back to the house and at the instant I opened the gate I felt the peace. I looked at my watch and it said XX:XX:13.

Tuesday April 5

It is always a little sad leaving Medjugorje because it feels so good to see people in a community that truly respond to Our Lady’s presence. It’s the way it should be. We got up this morning and had breakfast. We then boarded the bus that was waiting to take us back to Sarajevo for our flight to Vienna. It was at that time that Miki Musa informed us that Ivan Dragicevic who is another one of the 6 visionaries in Medjugorje had received his daily apparition and this is what he had to say:

"At Ivan's apparition tonight (04/2) Ivan was recommending intentions to Our Lady when the Pope appeared on her left. He was smiling, young and very happy. All in white with a long gold cape. Our Lady said to Ivan: 'this is my son; he is with me.'

The bus then departed and just as we reached the point where St. James church went out of view I glanced at my watch and the time was 9:33.

We rode for more than 3 hours to Sarajevo. It’s not that its so far, only about 75 miles but that the roads are so narrow and wind through the mountains. We arrived in Sarajevo and boarded our plane for Vienna and the time was 3:13. We flew to Vienna for a 1 night layover.

Wednesday April 6

When we arrived at our hotel in Vienna some people wanted to take a shuttle downtown. I was tired and just went straight to bed. When I woke up the next morning I looked at the clock and the time was 7:13.

We ate breakfast at the hotel and then the shuttle took us back to the airport. We had to go through very strict security flying into the United States and then we were called to board our plane. We boarded and the time was 10:13.

This flight was also delayed because of a fuel computer that was malfunctioning. They got it fixed and we took off. Just after the plane took off I again thought about the perfect timing of this trip and the pope. It was so very strong I glanced at my watch and the time was 11:33:33.

During the flight I read a book describing the many attempts to destroy the apparitions of Mary in Medjugorje. It was just like Emmitsburg. When I got to the last page in the book I realized the book was 133 pages.

Later in the flight after a long conversation with Larry who was on our trip I had the sudden urge to pray the rosary. I glanced at my watch and the time was 1:13:33. I prayed the rosary but had many interruptions during this time. The plane landed at Dulles Airport and Peter Khane was there to pick us up. We loaded our stuff in his van and just as we were pulling out to go home I noticed the time on the dash was 3:33.

Peter drove everyone home and shortly after arriving I checked my email and there was the message from Our Lady of Emmitsburg for Divine Mercy Sunday on my computer. I read the message and at the very instant I finished reading I noticed the time was 6:13.
